Updated Regulations and Standards Concerning Environment Protection    

Based on the Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling (GHS), China's General Rules on Classification and Hazard Communication of Chemicals (GB13690) revised edition and the General Rules for Preparation of Precautionary Label for Chemicals (GB15258) modified have been promulgated and will be effective May 1st, 2010.
   GB13690 specifies the classification and hazard communication of chemicals related to GHS and applies to the labeling of consumer goods on chemical production sites.
   GB15258 specifies the terms, definition, contents, preparation and using requirements of precautionary labels for chemicals and applies to the compilation, preparation and use of precautionary labels.
   The announcement of both constrainedly national standards indicates that China will completely practice the GHS.  

The Ministry of Environment and Protection (MEP) announced on December 15th, 2009 to strictly control over the production, purchase and uses of carbon tetrachloride.
   Effective January 1st, 2010, except used as raw materials of non-ozone-depleting substance and used for special purpose, carbon tetrachloride must be destroyed by enterprises during production or be treated by environment-friendly methods, to make sure that it will not have any remaining; carbon tetrachloride, except used as raw materials of non-ozone-depleting substance and used for special purpose, must not be purchased and used by any enterprises.
