East Hope Group Got Hope for Its Cause Soda and Calcium Carbide Project   

The 300 000 t/a caustic soda and 600 000 t/a calcium carbide project, jointly planned by East Hope Group and Chongqing Wujiang Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., recently passed the assessment by the experts team of Chongqing Development and Reform Commission, an important step for the two company to move closer to establishing the basic chemicals and dynamic workshop project in the Qianjiang District of Chongqing Municipality after one year delaying.
   In October 2008 the two companies disclosed the plan to build an integrated project that included 360 000 t/a polyvinyl chloride, 300 000 t/a caustic soda, 600 000 t/a calcium carbide, 2 500 ton per day slag to cement, thermal power and attached minerals projects, and scheduled to start up at the end of 2009.
   Chongqing Wujiang Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. disclosed on December 8th that the application report for the project got good judgment from the expert team. The caustic soda and calcium carbide project was thought to meet the industrial policies of Chongqing municipal government and the permit conditions regulated by the Chinese government.
