Jiangsu to Expand Salt Chemicals Chain   

Recently the Xiangshui county government of Jiangsu province held an investment promotion conference to invite for bidding in salt chemical chain. There were 24 investment agreements signed on the conference, involving a total investment of RMB6 billion together and all planning to construct projects in Chenjiagang Chemical Cluster of Xiangshui County.
   In recent years, Xiangshui county has hosted seven chemical projects with a total investment exceeding RMB1 billion, invested respectively by Jiangsu Jurong Chemical Company, Jiangsu Dahe Chlor-Alkali Company, Jiangsu Gadot Nuobei Chemical Company, Jiangsu Lulilai Company Limited etc. Now the Chenjiagang Chemical Cluster is home to 70 chemical companies that together are expected to achieve sale revenue of RMB10 million in 2009.
   At present Jiangsu Salt Group Company Limited has started up a 600 000 t/a salt and 50 000 t/a sodium sulfate project in Xiangshui county, ensuring the feedstock supply for the salt chemical chain there. Jiangsu Dahe Chlor-Alkali Company, built by Zhejiang Dahe Textile, Dying & Garment (Group) Co., Ltd., now operates in the Cluster a 200 000 t/a ionic caustic soda unit, 180 000 t/a chlorine unit, 50 000 t/a hydrochloric acid unit and 20 000 t/a calcium hypochlorate unit. The company plans to expand its caustic soda production capacity to 600 000 t/a over three years.
