China Huaneng to Build Integrated Coal Chemical Base in Xinjiang     

China Huaneng Corporation Group plans to invest RMB22 billion over next five years in building an integrated coal, power and coal chemical base in Zhundong, Xinjiang region.
   A demonstrability meeting concerning the proposed coal-based complex was held on January 5th by Huaneng Xinjiang Energy Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Huaneng.
   Huaneng Xinjiang Energy intends to build a large-scale coal mine with a capacity of 10 million t/a coal, power plants and a coal-to-gas facility with a capacity of 2 billion Nm3/a. The full project is scheduled for startup by 2015. And the company will expand it with market conditions.
   In addition, China Huaneng announced January 4th to launch a Green Development Action Proclamation that develops itself towards green, low carbon and recycling following the nation's strategy with response to the climate change.
