CNOOC Puts 4 MLN T/A Hydrocracking Project into Operation      

China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) has put its 4 million t/a hydrocracking unit in Huizhou into operation. CNOOC said in a statement on November 30th, 2009.
    The 4 million t/a (80 000 barrel per day) hydrocracker in Huizhou of Guangdong province, the largest capacity hydrocracker of its kind in China, is designed to produce diesel and jet fuel that meets future stringent Chinese specifications while producing wax oil as feedstock for the ethylene cracker in the Nanhai petrochemical complex.
   Hydrocracking technology licensed through Shell Global Solutions increases plant's product yield, reliability, and optimizes energy consumption.
   According to Mr. Dong Xiaoli, general manager of CNOOC, refineries in today's market, face a range of new technical, regulatory and commercial challenges. They not only ensure that their operations meet environment protection standards, comply with new lower sulfur fuel specifications and also upgrade their refinery capabilities to meet capacity and quality targets.
