Demand for Water Treatment Products in China Keeps Increasing

World demand for water treatment products is projected to increase 5.7 percent per year to US$59 billion in 2013, well above the rate of economic growth in essentially every region, according to a new study from The Freedonia Group, Inc., a Cleveland-based industry research firm. Large yet still developing markets such as China will register the fastest growth, due to continued industrial expansion and concerted efforts to expand access to safe water supplies and adequate sanitation facilities, especially in rural areas.
Demand for water treatment products in China was US$1 185 million in 2003 and reached, with an average annual growth of 20.1%, US$2 967 million in 2008. It is projected to further increase to US$5 390 million in 2013 with an expected average annual growth of 12.7%.
