Henan Broke Ground 200 000 T/A Caustic Soda Project      

Jiaozuo Coal Mine Group Wangfeng Smelt Chemical Co., Ltd. (Wangfeng Smelt Chemical) has recently broken ground for the construction of its 200 000 t/a ion-membrane caustic soda project in a industrial zone in Jiaozuo, Henan province.
   This project includes 200 000 t/a ion-membrane caustic soda, 30 000 t/a trichlorosilane, 10 000 t/a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride project and other matching facilities. The project got the government's approval in 2008, but the construction date was put off because of the industrial integration among coal chemical enterprises in Henan province, and it is expected to come on stream in 2011.
   As reported, Jiaozuo Huaderui Chemical Co., Ltd. (former Zhenzhou Haohua Chemical Co., Ltd.) which also relocated into the same industry zone, will make full use of the byproduct chlorine from the caustic soda process of Wangfeng Smelt Chemical to produce 10 000 tons of chloroacetic acid every year.
