Towngas to Supplyw Gas in Henan

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company (Towngas) broke ground for a new gas project in Xinmi, Henan province, on October 27th.
This means Xinmi's industrial sector will be able to use clean, quality and safe fuel, which is crucial to help the city save energy and boost efficiency, cut pollutant emissions and improve the environment.
At present, Xinmi is home to about 300 companies making fire-retardant materials. Such companies use raw coal as their main fuel, which represents high cost, low heating efficiency and pollution and safety concerns.
Towngas transports gas in liquefied form, as it cools locally the coalbed methane extracted in Shanxi province. It transports gas by LNG tank wagons, so that cities not connected by pipelines could also use the environmentally friendly fuel.
Towngas has reached preliminary supply deals with six local Xinmi companies that need gas supply urgently, including Zhengzhou Huawei Fire-retardant Materials Company and Zhengzhou Jianxin Fire-retardant Materials Company. Towngas is planning to set up temporary gas supply stations.
Towngas operates 74 urban gas projects in China Mainland since entering the market in 1994. The Xinmi project, costing US$30 million, is its first in Henan province.
