Anqing Petrochemical Starts up 100 000 T/A Styrene Project      

On September 19th, 2009 Sinopec Anqing Petrochemical Company Ltd. (Anqing Petrochemical) commenced the production of the 100 000 t/a ethyl benzene-styrene project in Anqing, Anhui province.
    With a total investment of RMB550 million, the project occupies an area of around 1.9 hectares, and construction on it was started on November 28th, 2007. (CCR 2007, No.35)
    As one of the important raw materials in synthetic rubbers and plastics industries, styrene can be used to manufacture polystyrene and SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) resin, etc.
   Anqing Petrochemical is a subsidiary of Sinopec Corp., and major products in the company include fertilizers, oil products and acrylic fibers.
