Encouraging Directory for Imports Revised     

The National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce of China jointly issued publicly on August 31st a directory of technologies and products that are encouraged to import (2009 edition), which replaced the 2007 edition. The company who imports the items covered in the directory will gain support in the mode of deducted interest by the government.
   The new directory includes four parts. Part A is related to the advanced technologies. Of that, 34 items can be identified as the chemical industry concerned, such as the production technology of liquefied hydrogen, the cleaning complete technology of 200 000 t/a or larger hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide, the manufacturing technology of polyisoprene rubber, the using technology of pesticides with high potency and low persistent, etc.
   Part B involves important equipment, which is related to PPTA, carbon fiber, PPS and polyimide.
   Part C lists industries, which mainly takes reference to the stimulate program and the guiding directory for industry restructuring (2005 edition). Four items are related to chemical industry - the manufacture of continuous reforming and adsorption separation equipment in para-xylene production line, the development and application manufacturing technology of ethylene complete equipment with a capacity of no less than 600 000 t/a, desalination of sea water and treatment of sewage water.
   Part D covers resource intensive products and raw materials, such as polyimide particle, nickel iron and ten kinds of non-ferrous metals mineral ore.
