China Continues to Take Antidumping Actions on Imported EU Catechol

The Ministry of Commerce of China (MOC) announced on August 26th China continues to take antidumping actions on catechol (HS code: 29072910) originated from the European Union over five years, effective August 26th, 2009.
China had imposed the antidumping duty on imports of catechol from EU for five years since August 27th, 2003, and started a final review investigation on the case from August 26th, 2008. Under the final review result, MOC found that if the nation terminated the antidumping measure, catechol from above mentioned region would be dumped into China, and under such conditions to threaten China's catechol industry.
The antidumping tariff is set at 50% for France's Rhodia Organique SAS and 41% for Borregaard Italia SPA.
Lianyungang Sanjili Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. is a leading catechol producer in China. (CCR2008 No. 26, 2005 No. 31, 2003 No. 25)
