Wengfu Group Expands Iodine Output

Construction on the second iodine recovery unit in Wengfu Group is running smoothly, and the unit will be put into operation in 2010. The company's iodine output will reach to 100 tons in 2010, equaling to the total iodine output of China in 2006.
Iodine is a rare resource in China. China only produces 1% but consumes 20% of iodine in the world. The phosphorous ore of Wengfu Group has a high content of iodine, but the iodine resources were all wasted in the past because of the high challenge in extraction. With the help of Guizhou University, Wengfu Group built the first iodine recovery unit of phosphate associated iodine mines in 2008, and the daily output of iodine is always more than 80 kg.
