Toxic Gas Leakage Happened in Lanzhou      

By September 8th, 2009 at least 354 people living around Lanzhou Feilong Chemical Co., Ltd. (Feilong) in Lanzhou of Gansu province have been sickened by the leaked toxic gases from the company.
    The accident occurred when the workers of the company were processing over 300 00 tons of waste oil to make lime on September 7th.
    The local environment protection bureau identified that the hazardous gases are mainly low toxic volatile organic compounds such as toluene, xylene and mercaptan.
   Feilong Chemical, the private calcium oxide manufacturer without production license, has been closed.
