China Refresh Government Procurement List      

On August 31st, 2009 the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) jointly promulgated the Quaternary adjustment of the government procurement list.
   Together with Ministry of Finance, MEP promotes the Green Procurement Program, which started in 2006 and makes it mandatory for all government agencies to buy products certified as eco-conscious and energy saving. The China Environmental Certification Center of MEP sets certain standards for products to enter into the government's green procurement list in terms of energy consumption, noise, pollution emission, products and recycle design as well as hazardous material.
   The products in the list include office automotive circles, furniture, photocopiers, waterborne coatings, white emulsion and china products.
   MEP will again announce the next adjustment of the procurement list in February 2010.
