Clariant Wins Contract for China Oil Field Integrated Services

Clariant Oil Services, a division of Clariant Chemical (China) Ltd, has been awarded a three-year contract by ConocoPhillips China Ltd to provide a range of integrated services for its operations at the Peng Lai 19-3 oil field at Bohai Bay in northern China. Clariant said on September 7th.
   The contract, valued at about US$20 million and with an optional two-year extension, involves chemical supplies, optimization and performance management, technical support for onshore and offshore services, contractor HSE management and chemical stock management.
   The deal also involves Clariant Oil Services' expertise in fluid assurance management, which includes demulsification and effluent overboard discharge management, downhole and topside scale inhibition management, water flooding, bacterial control and corrosion management.
   In fulfilling the contract, Clariant's local presence, with several production facilities in China, will be strengthened by an experienced regional team supported by global technical and R&D staff from Aberdeen in the UK.
