CNPC and Chadian Inked for Financing Chadian Refinery

On August 21st, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a memorandum of understanding with Chad concerning preferential export buyer's credit for the Sino-Chadian joint venture N'Djamena Refinery. And the two parties also entered into a supplementary agreement under the joint-venture accord and a loan agreement for the joint-venture refinery.
CNPC started construction of the Chad refinery in October 2008 under the partnership agreement signed in 2007 on a 60:40 basis.
The refinery is scheduled to be operational by 2011 with annual output capacity of 700 00 tons of gasoline and diesel, 20 000 tons of kerosene and 60 000 tons of LPG.
