Sinochem Shanghai: Creation of Leading Agrochemical Exporter    

2009 witnessed the great transformation of Sinochem Shanghai Co., Ltd. (Sinochem Shanghai, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinochem Group). As Sinochem Group has set a strategic goal towards specialization and integration, the integrations for agrochemicals business among its domestic subsidiaries have been carried out. It is also a shareholder of Zhejiang Wynca Chemical Group Co., Ltd. (SH: 600596), the largest glyphosate producer in China. Depending on the abundant resources of yellow phosphorus, advanced technology and high-quality customer service, its agrochemical business involves in processing, exportation and registration for agrochemical technical, intermediates and preparation in global markets.
   In order to enhance competitive advantages and sustainable development of agrochemical business, the company's core one, Sinochem Shanghai increases its investment in marketing mode transformation and R&D development, which brings the company leap in sales. The long-term strategic cooperation with MONSANTO, ANTANOR and other multinationals also consolidates Sinochem Shanghai's position in the global market. In 2008, it ranked the second largest exporter of PIMIDA in China, while listed as one of the top ten exporters of glyphosate. Cooperated with Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry, the bellwether in Chinese R&D field, Sinochem Shanghai plans to join in building Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry (Nantong) Chemical Science and Technology Co., Ltd. that will focus on the advanced R&D ability and competitive advantages, in order to provide professional services for customers. Depending on the R&D ability of Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry, Sinochem Shanghai can independently study the 5-batch analysis, physical chemistry, acute/chronic toxicology, ecotoxicology and field trial report. It also provides approximately 100 products-registration and GLP reports for a variety of products, which are helpful for further registration.
   In the middle of July, the Strategic Conference of Agrochemical Industry was hosted by Sinochem Shanghai. Mr. Luo Haizhang, the president of the CCPIA, Mr. Qian Xuhong, the principle of ECUST and Mr. Zhang Yibin, the vice general engineer of Shanghai Research Institute of Agrochemical also attended the conference to share their ideas about the development trend of China agrochemical industry.
