Zhongyuan Chemical Starts up Third Phase Soda Ash Project      

Henan Zhongyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. (Zhongyuan Chemical) recently came on stream the third phase 1.2 million t/a soda ash project that was launched by its former company Tongbo Anpeng Natural Soda Co., Ltd. (Anpeng Natural Soda) in June 2007.  
   In December 2008, Anpeng Natural Soda renamed Zhongyuan Chemical to get ready for domestic listing in 2009.
   The third phase project includes 150 000 t/a of mixed salts, 100 000 t/a of ammonium chloride, 160 000 t/a of sodium bicarbonate and 1.2 million t/a of soda ash, among which 800 000 t/a was made by the natural soda crystallization method 100 000 t/a by mix method and 300 000 t/a by natural soda carbonization method.
   The company said that the third phase project uses advanced soda ash production technologies imported from Japan and the USA, and is able to cut down 50% of the production cost compared to other domestic soda ash manufacturers.
   Anpeng Natural Soda established the first phase 200 000 t/a soda ash project in March 1999 and completed construction of the second phase soda ash project and expanded its total capacity to 700 000 t/a in July 2006.
