Microelectronic-grade Polysilicon Line Trial Run in Xianyang   

Shaanxi Tianhong Silicon Material Co., Ltd held a ceremony on August 6th for the successfully trial run of its 1 250 t/a microelectronic-grade polysilicon line. The same day, the company started construction on a new 2 500 t/a microelectronic-grade polysilicon line.
   Construction on the 1 250 t/a line was commenced in September 2007, and trial operation was conducted this July.
   Shaanxi Tianhong, based in Xianyang, Shaanxi province, was jointly funded by Shaanxi Non-ferrous Metals Holding Group Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd, Xi'an Lujing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. and Shaanxi Provincial Investment Group Co., Ltd.
   Shaanxi Tianhong plans to spend RMB3.7 billion for the 3 750 t/a polysilicon manufacture plant. The first phase 1 250 t/a unit has come on stream and the second phase of 2 500 t/a will be start operation in 2011.
   Shaanxi Tianhong focuses on the manufacture and sales of microelectronic grade polysilicon. It also aims to develop downstream monocrystalline silicon business, integrated circuit business, photovoltaic-use silicon wafer, solar cells and other related businesses.
