PPG Gears up for Booming Asian Wind Energy Market

PPG Fiber Glass provides tailor-made reinforcements used in turbine blades around the world. The latest, HYBON 2026 fiber glass manufactured in the United States and in Zibo, Shandong province, eastern China, by PPG Sinoma Jinjing Fiber Glass Co., Ltd. - a joint venture of PPG and Sinoma Jinjing Fiber Glass Co. Ltd., is designed for the wider energy market. HYBON 2026 fiber glass roving exceeds specifications for wind blades and achieves maximum adhesion with epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester resins.
PPG blade coatings can extend the life of turbine blades while improving performance.
PPG has long been committed to developing "green" coating technologies, such as waterborne liquid, powder, low-volatile organic compound (VOC) and high-solids formulations.
Part of PPG's annual US$300 million commitment to research and development is focused on the growth of its product offerings related to wind and other sustainable energy markets.
