Xinjiang Qinghua Kicks off Coal-to-Gas Project in Xinjiang      

Xinjiang Qinghua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. began construction on the first phase of a 5.5 billion cubic meters a year coal-to-gas project in Yining county, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on July 1st.
   The Xinjiang Qinghua coal-based chemical industrial zone was invested and built by Qinghua Group. It covers 5.8 square kilometers and needs a total investment of more than RMB27.7 billion. The new coal-to-natural gas plant is a key and pioneering project in the zone, and will be built in four phases. The phase one, with annual capacity of 1.35 billion cubic meters of gas, needs total investment of RMB8 billion and could start operation in the second half of 2011.
   Qinghua Group, a private company, engages in mining, coking and coal-based chemicals production. In addition to the Xinjiang project, it has coal-based chemical operations in Inner Mongolia, Qinghai province and Ningxia.
