Permit for Tire Industry to Be Issued

Entrusted by the Industry and Information Technology Ministry (MIIT), China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) started to draw up the permit conditions for the tire industry on June 29th, scheduling for completion by the end of 2009.
Global economic shock helped domestic players in the tire industry be aware of their own problems, commented Deng Yali, secretary general of CRIA. Rational permissions, along with a guided industrial adjustment framework and a moderate twelfth five-year program both are under edition, will jointly guarantee the healthy development for the tire industry.
The permissions will involve products, construction, product recall, supervision and management, as well as environment protection and energy conservation indexes.
According to CRIA, China produced 350 million pieces of tire (that was 546 million according to the National Bureau of Statistics) pieces in 2008, accounting for around one quarter of the world total. Of which, 45% was exported. China has too many tire producers, constituting a diversified layout, with low end tires being oversupply. Furthermore, most of producers have relied on imported raw materials and sold tire abroad, easy to be affected by global conditions. Now this industry is suffering the impact of antidumping, anti-subsidy and other trade contractions, therefore controlling is necessary now.
