LDK Solar Partners with SAEM for Development of PV Plants in Italy     

LDK Solar Co., Ltd.(NYSE: LDK), the leading multicrystalline solar wafers manufacturer, announced on July 1st that the company has signed an agreement with SAEM Srl, a primary system integrator in PV (photovoltaic) sector, to build five one-megawatt (MW) PV plants in the Apulia region of Italy.
   Construction was started this July and is expected to be completed by November 2009. LDK Solar will supply wafers for the PV projects and SAEM will provide engineering, procurement, and construction services and system integration.
   The partnership with SAEM will help strengthen LDK Solar's position in the PV power plants market in Europe, LDK says.
   LDK Solar manufactures and sells multicrystalline solar wafers to meet global demand for solar cells and solar modules.
