Xiangyun Chemical Launches New Site     

On June 6th, 2009 Hubei Xiangyun (Group) Chemical Co., Ltd. (Xiangyun Chemical) laid a foundation for the construction of its ammonium phosphate expansion and matching project at Tianzhen, Wuxue of Hubei province, the new plant site of the company.
    The project covers 12 new chemical units, scheduled for startup in three years. The total planned investment was RMB1.66 billion. Of which RMB200 million will be used to construct two 400 000 t/a pyrite concentrate based sulfuric acid units, RMB100 million for two 150 000 t/a phosphoric acid unit, RMB80 million for a 300 000 t/a monoammonium phosphate (MAP) unit and a 300 000 t/a diammonium phosphate (DAP) project, RMB200 million for a wet-process phosphoric acid purification unit using new process, RMB700 million for a 300 000 t/a synthetic ammonia unit, and other auxiliary facilities.
   Xiangyun Chemical said that these projects will bring the company's total capacity of sulfuric acid to 1.5 million t/a, MAP to 1.0 million t/a, DAP 300 000 t/a, compound fertilizers 1.0 million t/a, synthetic ammonia 300 000 t/a and industrial grade ammonium phosphate 120 000 t/a. The first phase of the project will come on stream in May 2010.
   Xiangyun Chemical, a large-scale chemical enterprise, mainly specializes in manufacturing phosphorus chemical, sulfur based chemicals and fine chemicals.
