300 000 T/A Synthetic Ammonia Project Kicked off in Xinjiang    

On June 19th, 2009 Xinjiang Kuitun Jinjiang Chemical Co., Ltd., jointly established by The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and Hangzhou Jinjiang Group, commenced construction on its 300 000 t/a synthetic ammonia and 520 000 t/a coal-based urea project at Dushanzi Petrochemical Industry Park, Kuitun, Xinjiang region.
  The project with a total investment of RMB2.3 billion is due for completion in August 2011 and is estimated to contribute an output value of RMB832 million every year for the company when full operational.

100 000 T/A Sodium Chlorate Project Kicked off in Qinghai     

Qinghai Su Qing Sodium Chlorate Co., Ltd. held a commencement ceremony for the construction of a 100 000 t/a sodium chlorate project in Xining, capital of Qinghai province on June 21st.
   This project will make full use of the local abundant saline lake to produce sodium chlorate.
   The company also plans to expand the capacity of its existing sodium chlorate unit from 10 000 t/a to 50 000 t/a.

Liquan Launched 300 000 T/A Biological Potash Fertilizer Project    

On June 18th, a 300 000 t/a biological potash fertilizer project was launched in Liquan, Shaanxi province.
   This project will use crop stalks as raw material to produce environmentally friendly organic potash fertilizer through microbial fermentation technique in the whole process, and the potash fertilizer will be specially supplied for the production of soil test based fertilizer recommendation and organic fruit science popularization demonstration project arranged by the Ministry of Agriculture of China.
   The Liquan prefectural government office has signed cooperation contract valued RMB300 million with Shaanxi Fuyinong Jintu Fertilizer Company to construct three production lines in Liquan before December 2010 for manufacturing biological potash, biological phosphate and microorganism fertilizers.
   The Liquan prefectural government office has been taking full advantage of it agricultural wastes to produce valuable products for a long time. In 2008, the government launched a biomass power generation project. (CCR2008 No.22)

Zhenjiang Launched Three Chemical Projects    

On June 22nd, 2009 Jiangsu New Century Salt Chemical Group Co., Ltd., a large state-owned company founded on the asset base of Jiangsu Salt Group Co., Ltd. and Wuxi 21st Century Group Co., Ltd. in 2008, laid a foundation for the construction of its 300 000 t/a ionic membrane caustic soda and 500 000 t/a fine chemicals project in the International Chemical Industry Zone, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province.
   The project has an investment of RMB3.0 billion and covers an area of 66.7 hectares. It will run in full operation to manufacture caustic soda, liquid chlorine, trichloroethylene, chloroacetic acid, PVC, natural fatty acid and etc. within five years.
   Two other chemical projects also were launched in the International Chemical Industry Zone the same day.
   Zhenjiang Salt Chemical Co., Ltd., under China National Salt Industry Corporation, launched its 600 000 t/a salt manufacture project and 12 million m3/a brine processing project and public terminals.
   The project with a total investment of RMB1.0 billion has got approval from the National Development and Reform Commission in May 2009, (CCR2009 No.17) and is estimated to contribute a pre-tax profit of more than RMB100 million for Zhenjiang Salt Chemical when full operational.
   Jiangsu Surun High-purity Carbon Material Co., Ltd. also commenced construction on a 40 000 t/a high-purity graphite and 120 000 t/a plain carbon material project with an investment of RMB410 million.
   
Liaoning Kicked off Light Calcium Carbonate Project    

Fushun Yunaite Calcium Co., Ltd. recently has kicked off projects in Xinbin, Fushun of Liaoning province, to produce 150 000 t/a calcium oxide and 60 000 t/a light calcium carbonate.
   This project has an investment of RMB105 million and is estimated to contribute sales revenue of RMB130 million for the company after full operation.
