Sinofert Introduced Shell's Sulfur Incorporated Fertilizer Production Technology

Sinochem Fertilizer Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinofert Holding Co., Ltd. (HK: 0297), and Shell Sulphur Solutions announced June 10th to have entered into a technical co-operation agreement to conduct trials Shell Thiogro at one of Sinofert's affiliated production plants.
Sulfur is a major plant nutrient and is essential for sustained healthy plant growth. Soil sulfur deficiency is recognized to be a significant factor in inhibiting optimal crop yields in many parts of the world, including China.
Patented Shell Thiogro technologies have been developed to allow the incorporation of micron sized particles of elemental sulfur within the world's most widely used phosphate fertilizers, such as MAP, DAP and NPK fertilizers. It will help progressive fertilizer manufacturers make the most of sulfur in their fertilizer formulations by the safe incorporation of elemental sulfur.
In addition to conducting a production trial at the production plant, this agreement also outlines a joint approach for agronomic field trials to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Shell Thiogro fertilizers for Chinese crops and soils. Successful conclusion of the trials could lead to Sinofert becoming a licensee for Shell Thiogro and commercially produce this specialized product within China.
