Bridgestone to Increase Radial Passenger Tire Production Capacity at Wuxi Plant   

On April 13th, Bridgestone Corporation announced that, in response to the expected medium-to-long term increase in demand for radial passenger tires in the Chinese market, it will increase production capacity at Bridgestone (Wuxi) Tire Co., Ltd. (Wuxi Plant).
   Bridgestone intends to start increased production at the Wuxi Plant beginning the second half of 2011. It plans to invest US$98 million, which will enable it to increase daily production by 4 200 units, giving the plant an estimated daily output of 12 000 units once production capacity has been increased.
   Bridgestone applied to the Chinese Authority for investment to increase production.
  Bridgestone Wuxi Plant, formed February 2003, started production of radial tires for passenger vehicles, including ultra high performance tires in July 2004, with 820 employees as of the end of 2008.
