Jianfeng Chemical Announced Construction Resume      

On April 8th, 2009 Chongqing Jianfeng Chemical Co., Ltd. (Jianfeng Chemical, SZ: 000950) announced to resume partly construction for its 800 000 t/a urea projects. The constructions on the parts that are contracted by China National Chemical Engineering Third Construction Co., Ltd. are not allowed to resume, which is subject to the report of the accident investigation team.
   On March 23rd, 2009 a collapse accident happened at the construction site of the granulation (particle-making) tower, killed twelve workers (CCR2009 No.10), and Jianfeng stopped entirely the construction on the urea project. The construction on the 106 meters high granulation tower was scheduled for completion by June 30th this year. The roof for the tower has been sealed on March 12th, ahead of the schedule timesheet. The accident happened at the worker shelter, no damage on the tower. Jianfeng Chemical says that the construction idle on the granulation tower will not have negative impact on the whole project.
