China's West-to-East Pipeline Again Selected GE Technology

On March 25th, 2009 GE Oil & Gas announced that it has again been selected for the primary supplier of compression equipment for the western section of China's second west-to-east gas transmission pipeline and the bid value is approximately US$300 million. Since 2005, GE has been awarded bids by PetroChina Company Limited (SH: 601857) worth over US$600 million.
Previously, the company provided equipment for the expansion of the first west-to-east gas transmission pipeline project, and for the second west-to-east gas transmission pipeline project. (CCR2008 No.27)
In addition to the west-to-east gas transmission pipeline projects, GE has been an equipment supplier for Sinopec's Sichuan-to-East China pipeline, which transports natural gas from the Puguang field in Sichuan province to Shanghai in eastern China.
