SAWS Eyes on Oil Giants      

The State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) recently announced to stress the supervision on petroleum and natural gas exploration enterprises managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, including CNPC, Sinopec Group, CNOOC and Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group.
    The work safety departments in provinces, regions and municipalities shall supervise the work safety in branches of these oil giants and enhance them to apply for advanced work safety management system and upgrade production technology with safer one. The security facilities must be designed, constructed and put into service on the same time the new project bulk is designed, constructed and put into operation.  
   The Offshore Petroleum Work Safety Office of SAWS is responsible for the supervision on offshore petroleum work. It will set up a branch office in headquarters of CNOOC, CNPC and Sinopec Group respectively. The office will supervise and check the work safety conditions, equipment safety, work protection in offshore petroleum companies. This announcement aims to clarify the safe supervisor for oil giants is SAWS rather than the large enterprises themselves or the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
