Biaoxin Chemical Closed     

On February 20th, the urban tap water supplied to Yancheng city, a 400 thousand citizens medium city in Jiangsu province, was found polluted by phenol containing sewage. According to the investigation by the local environmental protection department, Yancheng Biaoxin Chemical Company was identified to have discharged 30 tons high dangerous wastes - high concentration phenol containing potassium salt sewage to a river, causing this pollution casualty.   
   The company engaged in the production of sodium chloride, ammonia chloride, potassium chloride, hydrogen peroxide, and chloroetherketone. Ding Yuesheng who shall be in charge of the accident in the company has been controlled by policemen. The company was forced to shut down and the pollution has been removed, reported the local government.
