BASF Presents First Logistics Supplier Award in China

On February 13th, BASF announced to present its first "Best Service Provider" award, also called the "Shenxing Taibao Award" (Shenxing Taibao is a heroic figure in Shui Hu, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature), for its logistics suppliers in China. The award demonstrates BASF and its suppliers' commitment to a new model of cooperation between the chemical industry and the logistics industry. The first recipients of the award include Shanghai Joy Logistics Co., Ltd., Suttons International Freight Forwarding (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Milkyway International Logistics Co., Ltd.
The award is designed to demonstrate the steps BASF and its suppliers have taken to move beyond conventional business relationships, not only to ensure safety and efficient utilization of resources, but also to enhance professionalism of the logistics industry in China.
Energy saving has become a focus of attention within China's logistics industry in recent years. With a tailor-made one-stop warehouse for BASF, Milkyway developed a solution for greater efficiency. The integration of six storage locations leads to a reduction of non-value-adding transportation between stock points resulting in savings of one million RMB for BASF per year. With its integrated storage capability, the business volume for Milkyway increased by 30% in one year.
