Certain Projects Passed Environmental Impact Assessment
The Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) passed environmental impact assessment on certain proposed chemical projects this January and February.
* The 600 thousand t/a p-xylene project is proposed by Sinopec Hainan Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. in Hainan province.
* The phase II project in BASF-YPC Company Limited is located in Liuhe, Nanjing of Jiangsu province, including innovation on existing ethylene facility and construction of downstream facilities.
* The 1.7 million t/a coal-based methanol and preparing for olefins integrated project is applied by Anhui Huaihua Group Co., Ltd.
* The 200 thousand t/a fuel ethanol project (phase I with a capacity of 100 thousand t/a) is applied by Hainan Yedao Group Co., Ltd.
* The vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) integrated project is a matching facility for 300 thousand t/a diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) expansion of Ningbo Wanhua Polyurethane Co., Ltd. in Daxie Development Zone, Ningbo of Zhejiang province. The integrated project, which includes 300 thousand t/a VCM facility, 500 thousand t/a dichloroethane (EDC) facility and 40 thousand t/a hydrochloric acid, is invested by Korea Hanwa (Ningbo) Petrochemical Co., Ltd.,
* The 800 thousand t/a alumina expansion is proposed by Shandong Nanshan Aluminum Co., Ltd.
