Hubei Plans to Close 133 Small Enterprises      

On February 16th, the Hubei Development And Reform Commission, the Hubei Provincial Economic Commission, the Hubei provincial construction administration and the provincial environmental protection administration jointly announced the black name sheet of enterprises to be closed in 2009 and the construction status of urban sewage treatment projects, inviting for public supervision.   
   Totally 133 high pollution enterprises in the province will be shut down upon this plan, including 23 small papermaking enterprises (production lines), 71 small cement manufacturers (production lines), 26 small iron-steel makers, 3 small alcohol manufacturing firms and 10 small dyeing/printing enterprises. Other six small dyeing/printing enterprises are required to control pollution in a settled period.
   The provincial environmental protection administration also announced publicly the startup schedule or construction timesheet for 75 sewage treatment projects.
