Golden Elephant Starts Up 300 000 T/A Urea Project      

On January 16th, 2009 Sichuan Golden Elephant Chemical Co., Ltd. (Golden Elephant) put its 300 000 t/a urea project into operation. When the RMB120 billion project is in full operation, Golden Elephant's total capacity of urea will be 440 000 t/a.
   In October 2008 the company completed the construction of a 200 000 t/a synthetic ammonium project.
   Golden Elephant located in Meishan of Sichuan province is established in 1970. A multiple structure of product lines has been formed in the company including synthetic ammonia, urea, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, compound fertilizers of nitrate-based, calcium nitrite, formaldehyde, liquefied carbon dioxide, ammonium hydrogen carbonate, etc.
