Six Environmental Protection Standards Took into Effective

From February 1st, six national standards concerning environmental protection took into effective in China. The standards include the Clean Production Standard of the Coal Mining Sector (HJ446-2008), the Clean Production Standard of the Lead Storage Battery Sector (HJ447-2008), the Clean Production Standard of the Leather Processing (light cow leather) Sector (HJ448-2008), the Clean Production Standard of the Synthetic Leather Sector (HJ449-2008), the Clean Production Standard of the Print Circuit Board Manufacture Sector (HJ450-2008) and the modification issue of the Clean Production Standard of the Electroplating Sector (HJ/T314-2006).
The first five standards regulate the common requirements on the related sectors' clean production, containing requirements on production technologies and facilities, utilization index of sources and energies, index of products, index of pollutants discharged (before the final treatment) and requirement on managing environment.
These standards are used for the environmental impact assessment on new proposed projects, pollutants discharge permit management, as well as judgment on company's effect of clean production.
