Merro Pharma to Relocate     

Dalian Merro Pharmaceutical Company Limited (Merro Pharma) reached a cooperative framework agreement with the Ganjingzi district local government in Dalian, Liaoning province on December 24th, 2008 for building a modern medicine industry base which takes up a total area of 227 000 square meters in Yingchengzi Hi-tech Industrial Park, Ganjingzi district.
   Under the scheme, Merro Pharma's two subsidiaries - Dalian Merro Pharmaceutical Factory and Dalian Merro Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory will move to the new site. Meanwhile a new biology bacterin factory will be built at the same site.
   Merro Pharma expects to cost approximately RMB1.1 billion for this relocation and rebuilding program, of which RMB600 million for Dalian Merro Pharmaceutical Factory, RMB300 million for Dalian Merro Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory and RMB200 million for the planned biology bacterin factory.
   Construction is planned to commence in early 2009 with scheduled for startup in 2012. Upon completion of the relocation, Dalian Merro Pharmaceutical Factory will lift its drug solid preparation capacity to above 10 billion pills per year, and Dalian Merro Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory will increase its freeze drying drugs preparation capacity to 30 million units. In addition, the proposed biology bacterin factory will have capability of producing 20 million units of bacterin per year.
   After completion, Merro Pharma will relocate its headquarters, R & D center and logistic center to the new airdrome zone, Ganjingzi district.  
   This is Merro Pharma's second relocation after the first moving in 1999. The strategic expansion by the first relocation helped Merro Pharma's to strengthen its competitive edge and top 10 enterprises in China's medical industry.
