US FDA Opens Beijing Office     

The US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) opened its office in Beijing on November 19th, 2008.
   The US FDA will open additional two offices, one in Shanghai and the other in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province.
   The US FDA hopes work with the Chinese government and manufacturers to ensure that FDA standards for safety and manufacturing quality are met before pharmaceutical products are shipped to the United States.
   The responsibilities of Beijing office will include inspecting local facilities, providing guidance on US quality standards, and eventually training local experts to conduct inspections on behalf of the US FDA.
    Meanwhile, the State Food & Drug Administration of China is preparing for establishing offices in the United States.
