YCRNP Innovates New Technology for Synthesizing Medicine Bismuth Salt       

In August 2008, the project of Purifying Industrial Bismuth Nitrate to Make Medicine Bismuth Salt, supported by the national innovation fund, conducted by Yunnan Copper Rare Noble Pharmaceutical Company Limited (YCRNP) got the approval of Kunming High-tech SME Technology Innovation Funds Management Center.
    Refined bismuth is usually used as raw material in traditional process. YCRNP broke through the traditional routine by using industrial bismuth nitrate as raw material, adopting the production process of leaching and separating bismuth slag, purifying the bismuth and then producing bismuth nitrate. By precipitation, decomposition and separation, it can dispose of harmful impurities and make qualified intermediate product - bismuth nitrate for manufacturing medicine bismuth salts with fewer production procedures. The innovated technology reduces raw material consumption and lower production cost. Meanwhile, by using solar heating boiler to dry the material substances, it can save more than 1/3 of fuel consumption, shorten the drying time, and improve the production efficiency.
    The refined bismuth nitrate, bismuth nitrite and bismuth aluminate made by this technology can meet the HG3-1295-80 pharmaceutical reagent standards, the standard promulgated by the Ministry of Health of China and the standards of the pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China (2005 edition) respectively. YCRNP has constructed a 500 t/a medicine bismuth salt production plant.
