Proposed Projects Passed Environmental Impact Assessment     

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) passed environmental impact assessments on some proposed chemical projects at the end of 2008.
   * The fuel ethanol project with a capacity of 100 thousand t/a will be built in Dongxiang of Jiangxi province, conducted by Sinopec Group.
   * The semi-steel radial tire production line with a capacity of 10 thousand pieces per day, applied by Anhui Giti Tire Co., Ltd., will be located in Hefei of Anhui province.
   * The two cement clinker production lines each with a capacity of 12 thousand t/a are applied by Wuhu Conch Cement Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Anhui Conch Group.
   * The 100 thousand t/a fuel ethanol project is proposed by Sinopec Jingmen Petrochemical Co., Ltd., located in Jingmen, near its existing site in Hubei province.
   * The 100 thousand t/a TDI (diisocyanatotoluene) expansion project is applied by Gansu Yinda Chemical Co., Ltd. in Gansu province.
   * Spanish CEPSA is in progress of a 250 thousand t/a phenol and 150 thousand t/a acetone plant at Caojing, Shanghai, which will supply raw material to Bayer MaterialScience's PC facility. (CCR2007 No. 24)
   * The 800 thousand t/a alumina project is applied by Henan Xiangjiang Foguang Industrial Co., Ltd.
