Hubei Yihua Group Launches Sodium Dithionite Project      

Hubei Yihua Group, the majority shareholder of Hubei Yihua Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (SZ: 000422), recently has broken ground for the first phase of its 100 000 t/a capacity of sodium dithionite (sodium hydrosulfite) project in Xiaoting Yihua Industry Park, Hubei province. The project with an initial investment of RMB256.6 million is scheduled to come on stream in June 2009. Upon completion, the project will consume fully sodium formate generated as a by-product in the operating of the Group and its subsidiaries' total 110 000 t/a pentaerythritol capacity.
  Sodium dithionite mainly serve as reducing agent in dyeing industry, food industry and light industries, as well as crucial raw materials in pharmaceutical industry etc.
