Accidents Happened in December    

December 11th a fire took place at the toluene workshop of Chongqing Jingtong Road Facility Equipment Engineering Company. Around 300 kilograms of toluene burned. The accident does neither caused death nor injury. The company has discontinued production now.

December 15th Nanjing Chemical Fiber Plant that is being removed came across a fire at a plastic tank. The 47 years old plant was announced closed in December 2007 because it had discharged hydrogen sulfide to the downtown of Nanjing city, the capital of Jiangsu province. The plant used to produce polyester filaments. Now the plant constructed two new production sites in northern Jiangsu and suburb of Nanjing respectively.

December 17th a propylene pipeline in Beijing was broken unexpectedly by another construction company, causing propylene to leak in the air. The 50 millimeter diameter pipeline is used to transmit propylene from Sinopec Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Company to Beijing Dongfang Petrochemical Company. The accident was controlled in time, caused no harm to neighbor citizens but led to one-week off-line for the related production units.

December 18th Jiangsu Gaoyou Auxiliary Factory suffered an explosion at its DCB workshop. Thanks to the sensitive reaction of two workers, the accident has not caused injury.

December 22nd an explosion happened to Harbin Zhenglong Industry and Trade Company. Three workers dead and two were injured. The company engaged in producing foam plastic articles such as packaging film and mulch film.
