Anhui Chaoqiang Suffered Explosion    

On December 8th, it is reported that an explosion happened at the facility for production of N-methyl pyrrolidone of Anhui Chaoqiang Chemical Company Limited, in Huainan, Anhui province. The accident cause three deaths and two injures.
    The Anhui Provincial Work Safety Administration announced on December 11th that the accident was caused by a modifying operation on the pipeline flank between a pump and a heat transfer oil tank. The company can produce 8 000 t/a GBL (gama-butyrolactone) and 6 000 t/a N-methyl pyrrolidone.
