Thanks to the Kyoto Protocol, CER buyers and Chinese manufacturing plants have a unique opportunity to do business in China. This is due to the fact that the carbon trade market in China currently has no pressure to reduce carbon emissions.
    In order to take advantage of this 12.5 billion euro business, plants and CER buyers need the most up-to-date carbon market insights and China project information. China has the largest inventory of emission reducing project options globally however; the 2012 deadline is fast approaching.

Due to rising global crude prices and an economic slump in the US and despite the increase in demand, producers are struggling with rising crude prices. At the same time, petrochemical firms are unable to pass rising crude prices on to customers due to price controls and the level of state subsidies are insufficient to cover losses. While the cost of inputs has risen, prices in the Chinese petrochemical market slumped due to high inventory levels, aggressive price competition and broader concerns over the global downturn. Price cuts and concerns over the health of global economies have also influenced the downturn.
