Accidents in November-December    

December 4th, an explosion happened to Dadi Zelin Silica Industry Company located in Tongzhou, a rural district of Beijing. Two workers were wounded. The company operates four silica powder production lines totaling 20 000 t/a capacity. A security official disclosed that the leaked acetylene caused a fire then an air compressed tank was burned to explode. Now the factory was ordered to discontinue production.

December 3rd  Taiyuan Qiaoyou Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd. got an explosion at its maleic anhydride workshop. No wounded was reported. The company is China's second largest maleic anhydride producer by means of an annual production of 30 000 tons. Explosion began at a separator for liquid maleic anhydride. Cause is under investigating.
November 28th Xutaikong Coal Deep Processing Company, located in Tubi county of Xinjiang region, got a fire, which caused coal tar in cooling pools burnt. Luckily the accident caused no death or injure. The reason for fire is a misdoing action of workers when they baked an oil transferring pipeline.

November 25th, the fire happened in Luoding Xinbang Forestry Chemicals Co., Ltd. unluckily caused two death and three injure. The company can annually produce 10 000 tons rosin, 1 500 tons turpentine and 5 000 tons terpene resin. Possible cause maybe the undue operation of workers. The managers of the factory are already controlled by policemen. Related environmental protection departments reported the fire had not impact on the surroundings after investigation and control.
    
November 30th Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (NYSE: STP), the world's leading manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) modules, reported a fire took place at its Wuxi factory, which caused six wounded. The fire may be caused by a machine.
