MOC Announces Review on TDI Case

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on November 22nd a final review on the TDI (toluene diisocyanate) originated from Japan, Korea and the USA.
   China had imposed antidumping tax on TDI imported from the three mentioned countries for five years since November 22nd, 2003. (CCR2003 No. 34)   Whether China continues to take the antidumping measure is subject to conclusion of the review.   Cangzhou Dahua Co., Ltd. based in Cangzhou, Hebei province, is a leading TDI producer in China, which has a TDI capacity of 30 000 t/a today. The company is building an additional 50 000 t/a TDI facility in Cangzhou Coastal Port Chemical Industry Zone, which is scheduled for startup in early 2009. In addition, Cangzhou Dahua is preparing an extra 100 000 t/a TDI project.
    Bayer MaterialScience is constructing a 250 000 t/a TDI plant in Shanghai, which is scheduled to come on stream in 2010.
   TDI is used in large quantities in the production of polyurethane family in China.
