GNSI Introduces Innovative Production Technology of Clean Fuel Oils

The technology of clean fuel oils made from carbon-hydrogen gas, developed by Golden Nest Shaanxi Investment Co., Ltd. (GNSI), has passed appraisal by experts group in Baoji, Shaanxi province in October 2008. GNSI reported this technology has been successfully operated in pilot level.
This technology uses the blast furnace exhaust, coke oven gas, calcium carbide flue gas and coal-bed methane to make clean fuel oils, high performance paraffin and other chemicals. It is reported 10 000 cubic meter of such gases mixed with nitrogen can produce 0.6 tons of diesel oil and 0.9 tons of high performance paraffin. The pilot-test shows that the catalyst, this technology can reduce the total sulfur content in the gases to less than 0.04 ppm, without waste emissions.
Coke oven gas and other employed waste gases are mainly generated in coking, smelting, coal mining, petroleum exploring sectors. According to the data by GNSI, 460 cubic meter coke oven gas is produced accompanying one ton of coke. More than 60 billion cubic meter of coke oven gas was discharged into air only for the coking enterprises' total coke production of 328 million tons in 2007.
GNSI got ready for the industrialization of the technology as reaching an agreement with a coke-making enterprise in Hebei province to construct a 30 000 t/a demonstrative project.
GNSI is a subsidiary of Golden Nest Int. Group (Pty) Ltd which was registered in South Africa. It constructed a 10 thousand t/a pilot unit in Baoji, Shaanxi province, with an investment of RMB100 million and put it on stream at the end of 2006.
