Reichhold to Build New Composite Plant in Tianjin

Following the growing demand for composites in China, Reichhold is preparing a new plant at Tianjin Economic Technological Development Area (TEDA) in Tianjin, for the manufacture of grass-roots resins. The company has acquired land for the new plant at TEDA and registered a new company Reichhold (Tianjin) Company Limited.
Phase I of the new plant is scheduled for completion by the end of 2009, with a resin capacity of 12 000 t/a. It will also be capable of producing vinyl esters, gel coats, and structural adhesives.
Reichhold has opened a new business office and applications lab in Beijing to provide sales and technical support for the new resin plant in TEDA. The new plant will serve Reichhold's strategic global customers in addition to the local market.
Reichhold's composites product offering includes unsaturated polyesters, vinyl esters, gel coats, structural adhesives and flame retardant resins widely used in construction, marine, wind energy, electrical, transportation, and pollution abatement for coal fired electrical generating stations.
Reichhold, with its world headquarters and technology center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA, is the world's largest manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins and a leading supplier of coating resins. In addition to the new plant in Tianjin, the company has manufacturing operations throughout North America, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.
