Cooperate in Bio-butanol Production

The Energy Research Institute, Shandong Academy of Sciences (ERI) and Green Biologics Limited (GBL) have signed a technical collaboration agreement on the production of bio-butanol.
Both sides will focus on the use of waste cellulosic feedstock to manufacture low cost sustainable bio-fuels. A pilot facility will be built at ERI in Jinan, Shandong province, using GBL's advanced technology to manufacture bio-butanol, which can mix closely with gasoline, and thereafter forming as fuel to better serve automobile engine system.
ERI engages in the R & D and technical solutions in the area of renewable energy and biomass gasification.
GBL is a revenue generating industrial biotech company based in Oxfordshire of UK, focusing on fermentation technologies for conversion of biomass to renewable fuels and chemicals. The company strengthens its presence in China by this November appointing Intelligent Sensor Systems as its commercial representative in China to support GBL in exploiting the rapidly expanding commercial opportunities for its technology and services to Chinese bio-chemical and bio-fuel producers.
