CPI to Grow 4.7% for 2007      

Domestic prices for goods are rising. China's consumer price index (CPI) reached 6.9% in November 2007, the highest in the past eleven years. Food prices, which make up one third of the CPI basket, rose by 18.2%.
    CPI is estimated to have grown at annually 4.7% in 2007.
    The government removed export rebates on a range of food commodities on December 20th, 2007 as part of measures to secure domestic supply, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
